Reiki
Reiki is a Japanese word meaning Universal Life Energy, an energy which is all around us. Reiki is the name given to a system of natural healing. It is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by laying on hands.
The recipient simply lies on a couch and relaxes, or sits in a comfortable position. There is no need to remove any clothing as Reiki will pass through anything. The practitioner gently places their hands non-intrusively in a sequence of positions which cover the whole body. A full treatment usually takes 1 to 1½ hours with each position held for several minutes.
The whole person is treated rather than specific symptoms.

Cupping
Cupping is a Traditional Chinese Medicine practice performed by placing cups on the skin, and by using heat or suction, the underlying tissue is slightly drawn up into the cup by vacuum. They are left like this for a few minutes allowing blood stasis (slowing or pooling of blood) which is when healing takes place.
Cupping has been practiced for thousands of years for the treatment of disease and pain. It is a form of acupuncture that focuses on the movement of blood, energy - called Qi - and body fluids, such as lymph - which circulates around the body's tissues. Oriental medicine states pain is due to stagnation of these systems. This stagnation can be a result of injury or stress. Cupping is believed to stimulate flow of blood, lymph and Qi to the affected area. Its uses include relieving pain in the muscles, especially back pain from stiffness or injury, sciatica and clearing congestion in the chest, which can occur with colds and flu.

Reflexology
The science of reflexology was founded by Dr William Fitzgerald, an American ear, nose and throat specialist when he ascertained that pressure on certain areas of the feet had an anaesthetic effect on the related areas. The body is divided into 10 zones ending in the hands and feet.
Nerve endings are imbedded in the feet and hands that then travel to the spinal cord and to various parts of the body. Unlike conventional medicine, reflexology works on the underlying problems within the body and works through the body's nervous system. Sometimes lactic acid can be felt in the foot in the form of little crystals. This is sediment due to poor eating or lack of exercise and can be crushed and reabsorbed into the body thereby allowing the lymph system to eliminate the waste product.
